One of the objectives of the organization is to develop the people’s institutions. The work experience of the organization with its short development journey can be highlighted below.
In recent years, widespread presence of arsenic above the permissible rate in ground water has added a new dimension in the planning for drinking water supply. Recent estimates of the percentage of the population exposed to arsenic from drinking water in excess of the Bangladesh standard of 50ppb is 29 million and is excess of the WHO guideline value of 10 ppb is 49 million. Most of the tube wells have been found affected by the arsenic, having arsenic greater than 50ppb. However there are some concerns regarding health impacts for the arsenic contamination of the tube wells. The SF has been prioritized the issue and undertaken the testing and mitigation of the problems in order to address the rural communities.
